Girls Lacrosse: Lake Tapps Drops Tight Game Against Kennedy

Lake Tapps midfielder Madison Lancaster had a team-high four goals in a game that was tied going into halftime. On defense for Lake Tapps, Nicole Burkhauser recorded a game-high eight saves.

AUBURN - Monica Moffat recorded three goals and added an assist as the Kennedy girls lacrosse team earned its first victory of the 2013 season, dropping Lake Tapps, Tuesday at Auburn Riverside High School.

Lake Tapps midfielder Madison Lancaster had a team-high four goals in a game that was tied going into halftime. On defense for Lake Tapps, Nicole Burkhauser recorded a game-high eight saves.

Every one of Kennedy goalkeeper Brita Whisler’s six saves proved to be vital Tuesday, as did each of Moffat’s three goals.

Alexis Jones, a freshman for Kennedy, scored two goals of her own and recorded four ground balls on defense.

Kennedy (1-0-0) next faces Puyallup (1-0-0) in a 4:30 p.m. start, Thursday, March 14 at Sunset Park in SeaTac. Lake Tapps (0-0-1) next faces Bellevue (1-0-0) in a 7 p.m. start, Thursday, March 14, at Sunset Stadium in Sumner.
