Kids Can Watch A Tacoma Rainiers Game For Only 50 Cents

The promotion is the team's way to thank fans. It's the same price the team charged for its inaugural opening day in 1960.

They say things are never like the Good Ol’ Days.

During a three-game homestand beginning today, the Tacoma Rainiers are giving you the chance to see if that’s true.

The Seattle Mariners’ AAA affiliate – which plays right outside of University Place at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma – is offering special prices for kids admission. Kids 12 and under  can watch for only 50 cents per game. That’s the same price the team charged in on its opening day back in 1960.

“In honor of our new generation of Cheney Stadium, we want to give our new generation of fans a break,” the team said on its website.

Multiple Rainiers players will be on hand to sign autographs as gates open prior to the start of each game and deals on fan-favorite concessions will be available throughout the ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. for all three nights.

All 50-cent tickets may be purchased only at the Cheney Stadium Box Office, located in front of the ballpark, 2502 S. Tyler St. The box office is open during normal business hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and during all game days from 10 a.m. through the seventh inning.

The “Turn Back Tickets” promotion runs through Wednesday. During the homestand, the team plays the Tucson Padres.
