Still Time to Register for Combined Sumner/Bonney H.S. Water Polo Team

The team will practice at the Sumner High School swimming pool beginning February 25, and will be part of the SPSL Water Polo League.

The Sumner School District announced this week that the Sumner/Bonney Lake Recreation Department is still registering students for the combined water polo team between both Bonney Lake and Sumner high schools.

The team will practice at the Sumner High School swimming pool beginning February 25, and will be part of the SPSL Water Polo League.

The Recreation Department manages the team business but students can still letter in the sport, which is supported and paid for by the school district, director Becky Giles said.

There will be about 10 matches at various locations and no school transportation will be provided.

Cost is $150 per athlete.

Thanks to Ann Cook at the school district for clarifying this wasn't a new program, and thanks to Becky Giles for the extra background behind how the rec department is involved. Point being folks: there's still time to sign up your kids if they're interested!
