Leaders from the Rec Department reflect on two decades of service in the community.
The Sumner-Bonney Lake Recreation Department celebrated its 20th anniversary April 15. The department offers a diverse amount of year-round activities for locals of all ages, from Zumba to tumbling and T-ball.
Throughout the years, Rebecca Giles, Tim Thomsen and Rich Hanson nurtured the Sumner School District department into becoming the much-beloved resource that it is today. In this video, they reflect on the time spent teaching kids how to play while helping local families and community.
As Giles prepares for retirement at the end of next year, the 20th anniversary also marks a time of change. The department is looking toward the future, as the need for more local activities only continues to grow.
