Bark in Bonney Lake Offers Variety of Activities

Look-a-like and costume contests, Olympics and Fun Run all a part of the action

Everyone seems to know that dogs often look and act like their owners. But in Bonney Lake Saturday, June 23, we will get to find out which dog looks the most like its owner.

As part of the annual Bark in Bonney Lake, one of the main activities will be a “Who’s your daddy?” look-a-like contest. Another fun event will be a Best Costume contest.

Events start at 10 a.m. at Allan York Park.

Those who are a little more athletic can take part in the Doggie Olympic Games and Bark for Life 6K Fun Run. Such runs usually are 5 kilometers long, but this one is a little longer because each team consists of six legs (4 on the dog, 2 on the human). Proceeds benefit the Sumner-Bonney Lake Relay for Life team. Registration forms are available at  2012 Fun Run Registration Form.

On a more serious note, micro-chipping will be offered by Metro Animal Services for $30.

The annual event is a favorite of dogs and their owners, featuring exhibits, dog products, adoptable dogs, and prize drawings. Dogs need to be on a leash, but they can enjoy the off-leash area.
