Great American Picnic Sponsors Sought to Support Troops

The annual showdown between the communities of Sumner and Puyallup, also known as the Great American Picnic, takes place this July 20, and sponsors are currently being sought to support the event and by extension, the troops and their families.

The annual showdown between the communities of Sumner and Puyallup, also known as the Great American Picnic, takes place this July 20, and sponsors are currently being sought to support the event and by extension, the troops and their families.

Sponsorship opportunities between $100 to $2,500 are available. For more information about what options are available, see below:

  • Home-Run Sponsor $2500 each: Hit a home-run without even picking up a bat by being one of the lead sponsors for this event. Benefits include your logo prominently displayed at the event, public thank you by the two cities, a full-page ad in the JBLM Value Guide (direct mail to 10,000 families), and a year-long listing on www.militarydirectoryusa.com.
  • Step Up to the Plate Sponsor $1500 each: Your business would be a leader in the game. Benefits include your logo prominently displayed at the event, public thank you by the two cities, a half-page ad in the JBLM Value Guide (direct mail to 10,000 families), and a year-long listing on www.militarydirectoryusa.com.
  • T-Shirt Sponsor $500 each: There’s one sponsorship for Sumner’s and one for Puyallup’s shirts. Have all the fans see your business proudly supporting troops and your hometown. And the benefits continue when ath- letes keep and wear their shirts around town.
  • Vendor Booth Sponsor: $300 Picnic only/$500 Picnic & Salute the Troops: Maximize your time and resources by getting your business in front of residents and officials from TWO cities plus TWO brigades from JBLM. Get a booth at TWO events--the Picnic and Salute the Troops--for the best deal.
  • Game Sponsor $250 each plus trophy: Sponsor one of the games and provide a trophy to the winning team that reflects the event and your business. Get creative! The more unique the trophy, the better chance it gets displayed proudly with your name. Trophies must have an estimated value of at least $50. Creativity and hand-made trophies encouraged!
  • Banner $100 each: Have everyone see your business and website to drive sales. Supply your own banner, and we’ll hang it prominently in the Sports Complex for the event. Maximum banner size 3’ x 5’.
Each community’s team will be made up of city officials, community members and the partner units from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, the 2-2 Strykers with Puyallup and the 593rd Sustainment Brigade with Sumner.
