Puyallup Fair's Hobby Hall Seeking Handcrafters

Organizers for the Puyallup Fair are calling for all crafters and hobbyists to enter their creative pieces for the Fair this Sept. 27 through Sept. 23.

 

The Puyallup Fair is calling all crafters and hobbyists to enter their creative pieces in Hobby Hall for the Fair, Sept. 7-23. Those interested in displaying their work can sign up online, free of charge, but hurry because the deadline is approaching.

The deadline for handcraft entries is Wednesday, August 22 at 10 p.m. Entries must be delivered between Aug. 24 and 26 at select times.

To obtain the list of conditions for entry and awards and to register online, visit www.thefair.com, and select Exhibit entries. To review contest rules in the premium book, click on the desired Hobby Hall contest. Or, to enter, click Online Entry Registration. Then click Login/Logoff and choose your Type (Exhibitor), to Create Entries. You will select the department and division. All entries, including featured homemade items, collections displays, craft demonstrations and hobby clubs, will be displayed in Hobby Hall, and located in the west wing of Americraft ShowPlex, for the duration of the Fair, Sept. 7-23.

Judges will choose a Grand Champion and Reserve Champion for each division. Winners will receive cash prizes or prize premiums. Other awards include Honorable Mention, Merit and Special Awards. A People’s Choice ribbon will be awarded daily in both adult and junior collections.

The Puyallup Fair started in 1900, is one of the biggest fairs in the world, and is considered to be the state fair in Washington. Star-studded entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers and animals are mainstays of the 17-day event in September.
