Beautify Bonney Lake at 9th Annual Event this Saturday

Spend your early Saturday afternoon at the 9th Annual Beautify Bonney Lake, kicking off at 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Join your neighbors tomorrow morning at the , a clean-up event that promotes civic pride and street cleanliness.

Last year's event drew about 500 residents and many look forward to the work party all year long. There are 22 pickup sites this year, read more in a recent article in the Bonney Lake & Sumner Courier-Herald.

Mayor Neil Johnson characterized the event as a "partnership" between the city, businesses, schools, churches, community service organizations and the Chamber of Commerce.

"Today, Beautify Bonney Lake is a community event ... to build a strong community," he said.  "You can see from the strong community outpouring that people care about the city of Bonney Lake."

What time is the event tomorrow? Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the event will wrap up around noon.

Can I just show up tomorrow? Yes! Volunteers will meet at the Pierce Transit parking lot behind Wendy's off 410 between 8:30am & 9:00am to assign work locations. If you want to sign up a group for the event, download the volunteer application from the Beautify Bonney Lake website.

The BBL website has a map of all the clean-up sites where volunteers will be working, check that out here.

What do I get for participating? Not only do you get personal satisfaction for creating a more beautiful city, but you will get a FREE lunch and T-shirt for signing up.

Where can I find out more information? Visit the Beautify Bonney Lake Facebook page, or visit their website for contact information.

Hmmm, so you wrote this piece on Friday and it went out in the email on Sat. at 9:30 AM, for a Sat. 9 AM event, of which I received it at work (my choice, I know) on Mon. Not much notice there.

Hey Todd! We've been writing about Beautify Bonney Lake for a while and have some friends with BBL that have been talking about it in our blog. Sorry the last-minute preview didn't give you enough time to plan... I'll try and get these event previews out earlier!
