In November, Bonney Lake councilmember Laurie Carter put city staff up to the test – if they brought in 400 food items, she would donate $100 to the food bank. Not to be outdone, some department heads, including Mayor Neil Johnson, promised to match her contribution.
In all, Bonney Lake city staff raised $1,375 for the , in addition to 646 donated food items.
Food bank director Stew Bowen stopped by today to pick up the goods, then made his way over to the and to fill his truck to the brim.
Even with these generous donations, the food bank is still in need of food items, especially turkeys and hams for holiday dinners. You can drop off food items during business hours at the Food Bank.
