PHOTO GALLERY: Parks Appreciation Day in Bonney Lake

Volunteers gathered at Bonney Lake's WSU Forest and cleaned it up on Parks Appreciation Day on April 21.

On Saturday, April 21, about 35 volunteers showed up behind Fred Meyer and Regal Cinema for , a day of clean-up and civic pride in the Bonney Lake WSU Forest.

These three citizens were honored with the Robert Ceolo Award for their work in the city:

  • Mary Barcom was honored for her work in volunteer landscaping around town. She is a part-time City of Bonney Lake employee but dedicates a lot of her personal time to the Bonney Lake Lions Club, Beautify Bonney Lake, the Lake Bonney Conservation Group and the Fennel Creek Preservation Group.
  • HD Messinger was honored for his work as a city arborist and his volunteer hours tree-planting around the city. He worked with the city to develop future plans and care for trees and trails.
  • Dana Fugere was honored for his 25 years of service to Bonney Lake, through his work as a city Parks Crew leader and as a volunteer board member of Beautify Bonney Lake.
