Bonney Lake will be bustling tomorrow morning as members of the community celebrate fitness, fun and family at the . The event will be held tomorrow in the parking lot.
The day kicks off tomorrow morning with the Shirt Off Your Back Charity Fun Run, benefitting the and the .
There’s no early signup for the Fun Run event, so just show up at 8 a.m. tomorrow to register, said Chamber of Commerce executive director Lora Butterfield.
The race will have four options, including:
- 1-mile Fun Run/Walk through Sky Island, 19 foot change in elevation
- 2-mile Personal Best, 94 foot change in elevation
- 3-mile Ultimate Challenge, 194 foot change in elevation
- 5-mile Extreme Challenge, 464 foot change in elevation
Vendor booths will include health-oriented local groups like and , but there are other community businesses too, like Newland Communities, who will be there chatting up the development, and Comcast.
will put on a few special dance demonstrations during the day, as will the group and from Prime Fitness. There will be turbo kick and Zumba demonstrations too, so if you’re interested in trying a new fitness routine, this event would be a great opportunity to give something new a shot for free.
The Bonney Lake High School cheerleaders will lead a Frisbee toss competition and there will be a bouncy house for the kids.
Stu Bowen from the Bonney Lake Food Bank will be there roasting his famous popcorn and the Lions 4 Kids House will be there BBQing, too. If BBQ is truly what you fancy, the local will be serving up sliders and other goodies, too.
The Get Fit Bonney Lake Family Health Fair, sponsored by the Bonney Lake Chamber of Commerce, kicks off tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. with the Shirt off Your Back Fun Run and will wrap up around 4 p.m. The event will be held in the Prime Fitness parking lot.
The street that separates Wendy’s from Prime Fitness will be closed during the fun run so local drivers should use caution. Those who depend on their Saturday exercise routine should note that Prime Fitness will be open during the event, with parking in the back lot.
