Sumner School District Nominates Ryan and Michelle Windish for Community Leadership Award

Ryan and Michelle Windish were recently recognized for their dedication to service through the Sumner School District and were nominated for the 2011 Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Region 111 Community Leadership Award.

On April 22, Ryan and Michelle Windish were honored for their work in the community and dedication to the school district.

The Sumner School District parents received the WASA’s Community Leadership Award for outstanding local leadership and advocacy of public education. They have four children in the district that attend three different schools.

“This award should extend to include the entire Windish family. Ryan and Michelle are supportive parents to their children,” said Sumner School District Superintendent Gil Mendoza. “They are strong role models who demonstrate daily their ideals, their priorities and their values. Through family participation in school forums, community meetings and other public events, Ryan and Michelle are helping their children learn first hand about the duties of citizenship and the powerful impact of civic engagement in public schools."
