Viewfinder: Photos from the Bonney Lake-Sumner Relay for Life Kickoff Party
The air was festive and the costumes fabulous at today's Relay for Life kickoff party at Calvary Community Church.
This year's theme was 'Night at the Movies,' and friends gathered from all over the plateau area to unite for a common cause: cancer research and 167 days of fundraising.
Guests snacked on donuts and coffee and listened to a variety of speakers about "why we relay." The guest MC was Brennan Purtzer, Publisher of the Bonney Lake-Sumner Courier Herald and Enumclaw Courier Herald. The teams also got to meet each other, network and plan their next 167 days.
There are 44 participants and 19 teams signed up; $1,550.00 has been raised for cancer research thus far, according to the Bonney Lake-Sumner Relay for Life website. It all leads up to the big event on July 29 and 30 at Sunset Stadium.
