Weekend Fundraiser, Garage Sales Support Local Father

To help a local dad, members of the are hosting a multi-family garage sale this weekend at the home of and outside in Bonney Lake.

All proceeds will help Peter Carrington, a father of five and the owner of Auburn Dance Academy, who is suffering from unexplained heart failure.

Carrington is an active member of the Latter Day Saints and is very active in the community, said Roach.

“He was in perfect health,” she said.

Kristin Robison, a fellow churchgoer and friend, said Carrington’s heart is currently operating at 14 percent – he needs to get up to 30 percent before he can return to work. Right now, the Carringtons are waiting for insurance approval for a defibrillator, which could take up to 90 days.

To show support, Roach offered to host the garage sale at her Bonney Lake home on Saturday afternoon. At the same time, community members will be selling baked goods and other donated items outside Sandi’s Signs.

Hot sale items include baby clothes, kids toys, books and furniture. Roach will be selling a brand new air conditioner, snap-together wood flooring and plumbing pipes – great finds for that summer home makeover.

On July 16, will host a children’s carnival at its Sumner location. There will be live music, a cake-walk, face painting, carnival games and a raffle. All proceeds will go to Carrington.
