Thank you GBLHS for giving us the rare opportunity to peek into the lives of the Milotte's and whatRead More it took for them to make their films. I would hope the City of Bonney Lake realizes what a treasure this collection is and will find away for it to be displayed all year round.

Love this, Brent. I'd heard of Alabama Shakes, but I don't think I'd heard of Harlem Shakes.

Thanks for commenting, Donna. I realize I made a mistake and we have corrected it in the story. ItRead More was a notation error on my part. I think everyone is really excited to see how the festival goes and what artists are represented!

Your statement about "the Sumner Arts Commission, the group that traditionally ran the eventRead More but handed the reigns over to the Chamber in 2012" is incorrect. The Arts Festival was organized and ran by a group of citizens -The Arts Festival Committee and they chose to disband after the 2011 festival. The Sumner Arts Commission has been committed to continue this event. Last year the Puyallup-Sumner Chamber stepped forward with a plan to keep the event going and made a great effort. We are very grateful the SDA have stepped up to take on this great event and the Arts Commission looks forward to working with them to make this years Fine Arts Festival the best ever. I think the article captures Erik's past and present very well. I have watched him grow as aRead More businessman as well as an artist. Both I am very proud of!

I would say it qualifies as an art. Plus, it is a good work out. Back in the early 80's, my highRead More school art teacher called a new form of dance (break dancing) an art.

I read Les Miserables when I was in junior high... I'm not sure I fully understood everything aboutRead More the book back then, but I fell in love with the story regardless. It's a great read!

OOPs! CORRECTION! Eric Ode is booksigning at the American Library Association meeting on Saturday,Read More January 26, not December 26. Sorry folks.

As a library patron, I did send my post-cards in to publishers to support the libraries position onRead More getting e-books at a reasonable cost. However, when an actual book is purchased, no doubt in larger quanties at a discount, at some point it will have to be replaced. But not so with e-books -- once on line, they could be downloaded a zillion times. Publishers and writers have to stay in business to publish and write. So I can understand why publishers do want some restrictions on how many times the book can be downloaded. I hope a compromise can be reached that is fair to both sides.
