The Sumner Community Food Bank serves 250 families and almost 900 individuals every month. Its service extendsMore throughout the 98391 and 98390 area codes, from Sumner to Lake Tapps and Buckley. Once a month, visitors can collect food, toiletries, pet food and child care items. No one is turned away. The Food Bank is a great place to learn more about local resources and connecting people to the services they need throughout the community. This food bank works closely with food banks in Puyallup, Algona/Pacific and Buckley, as well as Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Sumner. Volunteers and donations are needed and welcome.
Bonney Lake Community Garden

The Bonney Lake Community Garden was started in a partnership with the City of Bonney Lake and Bonney Lake CommunityMore Resources, also known as the Bonney Lake Food Bank. A portion of the garden is farmed for the Food Bank, which supervises the garden and plot assignments. City residents can volunteer in the food bank section of the garden, and community gardeners can donate any extra produce they farm to the Food Bank or Bonney Lake Senior Center.

There is no charge for a plot in the Community Garden, and the city supplies water irrigation. However, you must supply your own topsoil, additives, seeds and tools. Visit the City of Bonney Lake website for more information and garden plot application forms.

Residents can drop off dry goods to the Core location at any time - donations are accepted in a bin outside the facility. You can also arrange a pickup with the foodbank director. Feminine hygiene products, toiletries and diapers are always needed.

This is a non-profit organization. Residents are welcome to visit each location twice a month.
