Senior healthcare systems business analyst by day, student and freelance writer by night, bead jewelry artist by weekend. That's me. I've worked in healthcare systems for 23 years, for providers, clinics, hospitals, insurers, and healthcare software vendors. I know healthcare IT from all angles. I have a Masters in Business Administration, and recently went back to the UW for a second B.A. in English. Literature has always been a great love of mine, and I most certainly I prefer the novel over the poetry! I'm a big Jane Austin fan – a "Janite." I'm busy building clippings to shore up for a full-time career in freelance writing. I write the Puyallup page in the Tacoma Weekly for independent study credit through my program at the UW. Now I'm involved with Patch.com, and loving it. I'll be covering the Bonney Lake City Council Meetings, and I specialize in writing feature articles and small business profiles. In my spare time (ha ha), I make bead jewelry. My jewelry is in several consignment shops, including BB's Closet in downtown Sumner, Jewell's Premier Consignment in downtown Puyallup, and Queen's Closet in South Tacoma. I do bead jewelry making parties – I bring all the beads and supplies to the host's home, help participants lay out their projects, start and finish their pieces, and send them home with one-of-a-kind personal creations. I'm working on getting a site up on Etsy.com (I'll keep you posted on that). I'd love to hear from you regarding article ideas, or if you'd like to host a bead party!
